Where I Stand

My assignment in an online class was to create an image with the inspiration "Where I Stand"... God's Word kept coming to mind. That's where I stand. Everywhere else seems less important as I search to find the right illustration yet creative. The Bible is our guide, a letter to us, instruction, God inspired and trustworthy...how could we not want to receive it, take it all in... stand firm upon it?

My online classmates are very good artsy creative people with great ideas. Yes, some dreadfully boring but extremely creative and necessary standing positions.  Sometimes where we stand is boring but it is still something we have to do or where we have to be. Like dishes for instance. I really hate doing dishes....always have even as a kid. They still had to get done so there I stood at the kitchen sink doing as I was told. Grrrrrrr...:)

It's Harvest Time

Since all of your are such supportive friends and family I thought I share that I'm taking a few online classes to better my photography skills. i will be adding images to my blog weekly as I am inspired. Don't you just love this photo of the coffee cup. Oh so inviting.

It's harvest time in Lodi. I just love grapes and how I have an abundance of vineyards to choose from to shoot grapes.  Here is my favorite from today.

Santa Cruz Memories

This photo captures a great place of memories and sun.  We used to vacation here as kids.  We spent a few days at a Motel 6 right down the street from the beach. We really liked it because it had a pool. No complaints here. Believe it or not, the hotel is still there. In those days not much sun screen was applied.  If it was, maybe only once. Burn... The sun is deceiving on the beach...even in overcast weather you can burn. I tan pretty easy but I even burn at the beach. I remember those burns and after affects. I'm sure you have memories of the "burn" too.

Anyway, my friend Kim and I were here last weekend. I got my camera out after she pulled over trying to find a parking spot and taking a phone call.  I would have never found this great overview of the boardwalk and beach if we hadn't pulled over.  Never give it a second thought to pull over to capture that shot.  You never know it could be a keeper.

Yes, I did step in the middle of the road to capture this.  I'm a photographer so I had to get it.  I was safe and Kim was watching on coming traffic behind me.
